Network Solutions Reviews

NS has expensive packages, but solid platform. In sept 2009 start with new products schema, look good, keep being expensive, but I think is solid hardware and connection platform. The control panel is enemy of non-English spoken (Yahoo is better in this issue)

I've been with Network Solutions since early 2006. I started hosting my website there because I could manage all the setup tools myself; the tools have evolved over time to offer me even more flexibility- and best of all, I can have a professional and functional website without having to outsource the design.

Customer service has been very good when I have needed it; most of the time though, everything has run so smoothly, I rarely need to contact someone.

While I occasionally investigate other solutions, including hosted blogs on perhaps less expensive hosts and the like, I have to say that the ease of use of the Network Solutions web design tools and the stability keep me from switching. I occasionally hear complaints from friends about their website going down and host issues, but I can say I have never had that problem with Network Solutions.

I should also note that Network Solutions has been very supportive to Podcamp, a new media unconference I have helped organize, so I am very pleased with their interaction with the community as well. There are no real downsides to using Network Solutions, at least for me! I am a very happy customer!

Avoid Network Solutions at all costs. It is their support that is so awful. We had email troubles for 2 weeks. They kept "resolving" it automatically without actually fixing the problem. You would talk to someone that appeared very helpful, but if they couldn't troubleshoot over the phone, it would be 1-3 days for their "engineers" to take a look. 4 days later, you talk to someone else who would try to troubleshoot the same things that the prior person did. Oh! Guess What! Another 1-3 days. Then they suggested I pay $5 per mailbox to upgrade to a higher level of service. Then they suggested I purchase a vps and manage everything ourselves. We think they were filtering emails too strictly and 100's of our customers emails were bouncing.

Switched to OnlyMyEmail for filtering and hosting. Will never go back to Network Solutions. They only respond to their online ticketing, and don't always email you when the ticket was updated. It is the most frustrating experience to have such awful support.

I've worked with 1and1 and OnlyMyEmail. Would recommend them both.
